Margaritaville Holdings, a global lifestyle brand synonymous with fun and escapism, announced this week that the Margaritaville Resort in New York City will be going forward!
The newest of the Margaritaville Resort locations will be at 560 Seventh Ave, aka Times Square. The 234-room, 29-story hotel is expected to open in late 2020. Once complete, the $300 million project will feature several Margaritaville food and beverage vendors, a rooftop bar & grill and pool, and of course the luxurious hotel itself.
In a press release the CEO of Margaritaville, John Cohlan said,
“From the beaches of Florida to the Great Smoky Mountains to the corner of Seventh Avenue and 40th Street, Margaritaville brings fun, relaxation and a much-needed escape from the every day to any set of coordinates…The Margaritaville Resort Hotel and the lifestyle experience it offers will be the perfect complement to the exciting, fast-paced energy of Times Square and we can’t wait to bring this destination to the travelers and residents of New York City”
The Margaritaville brand, which was created by musician Jimmy Buffett, has locations across the country and this addition will play to the Times Square sub-market as a destination for both native New Yorkers and tourists alike. According to the company, the Margaritaville Resort in New York City will bring an authentic “no worries” vibe to the city with it’s ‘casual-luxe’ design elements overlooking the city’s skyline.
