A quirky new bar pouring glasses of natural wine and plating a selection of bar snacks–such as fancy jello shots that are sure to spice up your Insta feed–is Greenpoint’s new (and must-visit) kid on the block.
Owned and managed by Greenpoint local and sommelier Brittany Myrick along with her partners–all of which are Roberta’s alums–the new wine bar, dubbed Lise & Vito, pays homage to Myrick’s “very favorite regulars” Lise Vachon and Vito Ricci, according to Greenpointers.
Local musicians with a residency at Greenpoint’s Lot Radio, Vachon and Ricci have been encouraging supporters of Myrick’s career and have become “extended family members” to Myrick and her husband.
And we must admit we’re a bit jealous that we don’t have a bar named after us–especially one as fun and quirky as this one!
More on that quirkiness: neon lights adorn the ceiling, the bar is baby pink terrazzo, fancy jello shots that look too good to eat are served on colorful plates, and velvet blue and lime green booths make for fun seating options.
Simply put: you’re bound to fall in love at first sight.
Lise & Vito offers about a dozen wines by the glass–divided into sparkling, white, orange, pink, and red–each priced around $15, along with an endless bottle list ranging from $42 to $195.
Their selection focuses on small producers and is served in aesthetically pleasing, stubby glassware.
Beyond the wine they have a selection of cocktails–a few of which are on draft, including a paloma and mezcal margarita–as well as non-alcoholic selections and, of course, their boozy jello shots in collaboration with Solid Wiggles.
To eat, a selection of bar snacks will help soak up all the alcohol and prevent a hangover if you’re lucky.
Options include Japanese Cracker snacks (salty, sweet, umami crunchy goodness), Greenpoint Fish ‘Bluefish Spread,’ a Fancy Cheese Plate with Bread & Jam, and Fatty & Spicy Soppressata with Bread & Butter.
With that being said, Myrick wants it to be clear that Lise & Vito is not a restaurant, but rather “a pre and post dinner destination more comparable to a European wine bar.”
However food pop-ups are on the bar’s horizon.
“My hope for Lise & Vito is to be a fun space for all people to come and enjoy their favorite beverage,” Myrick told Greenpointers. “You don’t have to be a wine aficionado to hang at our bar. The menu will be accessible to all levels of wine lovers and our team will be thrilled to talk wine with all those curious.”
