The beloved McDonald’s Happy Meal is going mini, starting July 1st at restaurants all over New York City.
Beginning on Tuesday, the beloved fast food chain will be introducing its brand new launch of the Lil McDonald’s Happy Meal®.
What does this mean, you might wonder?
Well, the meal itself isn’t getting smaller—instead, each McDonald’s order is set to come with one of 21 mini toys inspired by McDonald’s restaurants.
Ranging from a mini register and tiny fries to an itty-bitty Boo Bucket, the miniature themed figurines are set to become the hottest collectible this summer.
“A McDonald’s Happy Meal has always been more than just a meal—it’s a joyful tradition that creates lasting memories for both kids and adults alike,” said Anna Engel, Director of Marketing, Brand, Content & Culture for McDonald’s USA in a press release.
“As a parent, there’s something magical about watching your child’s imagination come to life with these tiny toys. That’s what makes Lil McDonald’s so special. It brings back my own childhood memories of playing McDonald’s, and now I get to create new ones with my kids.”
Alongside the mini toys, families can also recreate the Lil McDonald’s fun at home and at their local McDonald’s restaurants in a few different ways.
Customers will be able to scan a Happy Meal box to unlock a very fun Drive Thru Dash digital game, as well as use a PlayPlace Finder to find nearby play spaces, and visiting HappyMeal.com to download a free digital placemat that transforms any table into a Lil McDonald’s play zone.
