Ask a New Yorker where to get the best cookie in NYC and their response is likely to be Levain Bakery. And with several locations across NYC, they make it super easy to grab a sweet treat. But they’re not done expanding yet–a new location is set to open in Flatiron early next year, as reported by Eater.
Levain Bakery’s sweet story began as a small bread shop back in 1995, when Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald’s shared passion for delicious treats urged them to open a little neighborhood bakery on West 74th Street on the Upper West Side.
All it took was baking the ultimate chocolate chip walnut cookie–which was originally intended just for them to give them energy while training for a triathlon–and the rest is history.
They decided to sell a batch of the cookies in their bakery and they immediately flew off the shelves and took the world by storm. The cozy shop immediately became a neighborhood favorite and, well, you know the rest!
Since their opening they’ve grown to have seven locations in NYC, and even just treated our friends over in L.A. to a new location!
And the Flatiron location is set to be their eighth! According to Eater the new outpost is in the works at 122 Fifth Avenue, and is on track to open early next year.
We’re just happy we have several other locations to take (daily) trips to in the meantime!
Oh, also, it’s pronounced “luh-ven” according to their Instagram, just incase you were curious!
