New Yorkers will be invited to awake their creativity and imagination today at the 33rd St and 7th Avenue entrance to Penn Station with an interactive mosaic from LEGOLAND in collaboration with the MTA.
The large-scale mosaic will be made from 33,000 LEGO bricks to beautify the busy transportation hub. Once it comes all together, the mosaic will display a LEGO train headed to LEGOLAND New York. Of course, what’s a mural with NYC without Lady Liberty—so expect her in the end vision too!
Passersby are invited “to take a moment to incorporate play into their daily schedules and utilize their creativity and brick building skills while en route to their next destination.” Expert guides from the MTA and LEGOLAND will be on-site to help, but it’s truly up to the New Yorkers to make the masterpiece come to life.
It will be on view for today only (Wednesday, July 24th) from 10am to 2:30pm.
