Yes, you read that headline correctly. We’re telling you that you can get a complete steak dinner in New York City for just $34. Where you may ask? Well at Paris’ very own beloved steakhouse, Le Relais de Venise, that just reopened an NYC location in Midtown!
What makes Le Relais de Venise one of the most unique steakhouses in the world (and arguably why it’s so good at what it does) is that it only has three items on the menu: salad, steak and unlimited fries. In fact, it’s only served one main course for the last 64 years!
Founder Paul Gineste de Saurs started with a straightforward idea back in 1959 to attract a large volume of customers by deciding to serve a simple, single menu at an affordable price. And let’s just say that simple formula worked! Le Relais de Venise has since opened up locations beyond Paris in Mexico, London and now New York.
And though unlimited fries seem like the best part, it actually comes down to the delicious secret sauce that hasn’t been successfully replicated yet!
If you’re still hungry after the set spread, you can order something off of the dessert menu that shockingly has a lot of options. You’ll be spoiled for choice with sweets ranging from raspberry sorbet and apple strudel to New York cheesecake and chocolate ice cream.
Despite it not being available at the New York location yet, we can only hope that they soon offer La Baguette de Relais (steak and fries stuffed in a baguette) to take home with you like they do in Mexico and Paris.
Keep in mind Le Relais de Venise does not take reservations, so you’ll just have to show up and cross your fingers you can grab a seat! Find out more on the website here.
