The popular outdoor venue Nowadays recently opened an indoor location appropriately called: Indoors at Nowadays.
Located between Ridgewood and Bushwick at 56-06 Cooper Ave, the space is basically an adult playground inside a 5,000-square-foot warehouse offering various events such as a Stranger Things class, performances, a large dance floor, board games, vinyl records for private listening, and a weekly Planetarium event where people can “bring pillows, blankets, sleeping bags or anything else you like to get comfortable” for “an immersive hi-fi listening session.”

For tonight’s edition of Planetarium, we've got Eamon Harkin at the turntables, playing new classical, electronic music, pre-war blues, new age, ambient, psychedelic, rock and jazz, and vibraphonist and composer Will Shore performing live throughout the evening. We first met Will through the NYC music institution, Nublu, where he worked with the legendary jazz maestro Butch Morris as well as Sex Mob and Tom Waits drummer Kenny Wollesen. Will released his A Hundred Times EP with us last year, and also performed at our very first Planetarium session. We’ll clear the floor between our custom speakers, so you can bring pillows, blankets, sleeping bags or anything else you like to get comfortable. Lie on the floor, stretch out on the couch and get lost in music. • • • • • #nowadays #nowadaysnyc #planetarium @w_shore @mistereamonharkin
Indoors at Nowadays says this about the event:
“Records are woven together from across the spectrum – new classical, electronic music, pre-war blues, new age, ambient, psychedelic rock, jazz, field recordings and beyond – and there are often live performances to augment the experience”
While this event specifically costs $20, there are plenty of free things going on during the week in addition to being a place to kick back with some good food, drinks, and dancing.

We can't believe it's true. The dream we've been working on for some five years has become a brick-and-mortar reality. Indoors at Nowadays has been built out, inspected from floor to ceiling, outfitted with custom sound, and now it’s time for the most important part: adding you to the mix. We are opening this weekend for our first two parties and our first Planetarium. Then, next month, we'll open our doors permanently for eating, drinking, learning, dancing, listening and hanging out, seven days a week. You can peep the space and the event calendar at the link in the bio. To hear that sweet sound, though, you'll have to come in person. • • • • • • • • • • • #dance #music #nowadays #mistersaturdaynight #nyc #dancenyc #ambientmusic #planetarium #ridgewood #ridgewoodqueens
