In 2017, philanthropist Jennifer Chalsty funded a staggering $5 million transformation to completely gut and reimagine the space into a state-of-the-art astronomical center.
Renamed the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium, it knocked out the Hayden Planetarium in Manhattan to officially claim the crown as the biggest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere and the fourth-largest on Earth.
