During what is the most wonderful and festive time of the year, there’s always room for a bit of mischief, and this year Saint Nick’s devilish companion, Krampus, is tagging along for the festivities.
To celebrate the new film RED ONE, a movie inspired by Krampus, the half-goat, half-demon-monster turned Christmas legend, Amazon MGM Studios is bringing a Krampus-themed pop-up bar to NYC. Kristofer Hivju plays Krampus in the film, taking the Naughty List seriously and punishing children who misbehave during the holiday season.
And though legend has it Krampus has been terrorizing kids for as long as Santa has been delighting them, no one will be terrorized at this pop-up bar!
Open this weekend only, the experience will be full of exciting activations, festive photo opps, and even competitions and prizes. Visitors can look forward to:
- A photo opportunity on Krampus’ Throne with Krampus himself
- The “Krampus Schlap” challenge (as featured in the movie trailer) & prizes
- A RED ONE dartboard with prizes
- A Krampus Christmas Tree
- A Snow Bar & Snow Globe photo opportunity in Gryla’s “Transport Room”
Even more, the bar is popping up at The Back Room, one of only two Prohibition-era speakeasies still standing in NYC! And guests will be treated to complimentary drinks as part of the experience, with four custom cocktails including the RED ONE Margarita, a devilishly good twist on a classic, Espresso Martini, Krampus Nacht Noddy Toddy, and the Level Four Naughty Lister, made with vodka or rum, blue curaçao, and white cranberry juice with a hint of sparkle.
While we await the opening of this festive yet wicked pop-up, you can check out some other fabulous movies in New York theaters now and watch the official trailer for RED ONE below.
