If you haven’t made it out to the tulip fields yet, this is your final boarding call. Kelder’s Farm, the home of the Hudson Valley’s most spectacular spring display, is officially entering its final weekend of the season.
While the festival has been running since April, the farm has saved the best for last: this Sunday, May 10, is the final day of the festival. Coincidentally (and perfectly), it’s also Mother’s Day, making this the ultimate day trip if you’re still looking for a way to treat Mom to something more than just a grocery store bouquet.
👀 Why You Can’t Miss The Final Weekend
The 2026 season was the farm’s biggest yet, doubling in size to feature 800,000 tulips across 10 acres.
Because of the mild spring, the “rainbow effect” is currently at its peak, but these blooms move fast–once the festival ends this Sunday, the fields will be cleared to make way for summer crops.
💐 The Ultimate Mother’s Day Itinerary
If you’re heading up for Mother’s Day, here’s the vibe:
- Pick-Your-Own Bouquets: Skip the florist and let Mom pick her own fresh-cut tulips directly from the designated rows
- The Taproom: After wandering the 50+ varieties of tulips, head to the taproom for a local hard cider or a wine slushie
- Farm-to-Table Lunch: Grab wood-fired pizzas from the Pizza Barn or seasonal treats like their famous apple cider donuts
- The “Main Character” Photos: With the Catskill Mountains in the background and millions of petals, it is the best backdrop in the tri-state area for a family photo

🌷 Beyond the Blooms

You can also visit the farm animals, including their famous alpacas and donkeys, before heading back to the city.
🚗 How To Get There From NYC
Getting to Kelder’s Farm is easiest by car, but public transit is doable with a short rideshare:
