The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark, located in in Monticello, NY (only 90 minutes outside of NYC) first opened to the public back in 2019 as the largest indoor water park in New York State, and year-round they offer two-acres-worth of endless fun.
The water park is complete with several water rides and slides, a lazy river, a rope bridge across the water, and more than 100 water adventures including a massive dump bucket.
As their website describes it, the space is “covered entirely by the world’s largest texlon transparent roof, so it’s 84 degrees of summer perfection – all year long. Don’t forget the sunscreen (even in the middle of winter). It’s the ideal Catskills waterpark adventure.”
Rides include the Krakken, the Nor’easter, the Time Warp, and even one for racing your friends called the Jiggerty-Jaggerty. You can also brush up on your boogie boarding and surfing skills on the Endless Summer Flowrider.
Or, just chill out in one of their private cabanas with a fully-stocked mini fridge. The hotel itself features 324 suites, with access to the 80,000-square-foot water park included in your stay. They also offer seven distinct restaurants and bars, an indoor entertainment center, and daily activities.
If you don’t want to stay at the hotel, however, you can easily grab a day pass called the “Splash Pass.”
Considering we’re still in the middle of NYC’s frosty winter, we’d definitely embark on a weekend winter getaway to The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark any day.

Please note: The water park is temporarily closed and will reopen on Saturday, February 9th.
