Whether she’s strutting through the strobe lights of a Bushwick warehouse or serving high-fashion realness at a Manhattan bistro, Jazmine is proof that New York City is still the world’s ultimate stage for the “American Dream”—with a side of sequins.
Jazmine’s journey to the heart of the NYC drag scene wasn’t exactly a straight line and here’s the deeper story behind the queen who’s currently taking the city by storm.
From a small town in Portugal to the Big Apple
Born Renato Moreira, Jazmine grew up in a small town in Portugal.
And while she describes her childhood as good, she spent much of it feeling like she didn’t quite fit in.
In a town where she was often the only queer person in sight, she found her escape in “fantasy dreamlands” and the makeup gurus of YouTube.
The drag scene in Portugal is growing, but small—so Jazmine set her sights on the epicenter of the art form.
After a two-month visit to NYC in 2022, she knew she couldn’t leave and within months, she officially moved across the ocean, trading a quiet life for the relentless hustle of New York nightlife.
A breakthrough talent
Since arriving, Jazmine hasn’t just “found work”—she’s dominated.
Within her first year, she earned two GLAM Award nominations (the NYC nightlife equivalent of the Oscars) for Breakthrough Artist and Best Dressed.
Known primarily as a “Fashion Queen,” Jazmine has a superpower for aesthetics.
She isn’t just a performer; she’s a visionary who styles her own looks, often combining high-fashion pieces with “smart shopping” finds to create looks that belong on a runway.
Her commitment to her image is a 24/7 job, from meticulously lighting her own social media shots to choreographing numbers that blend storytelling with pure entertainment.

Where to see her kill it
If you want to experience the magic in person, you can find Jazmine lighting up some of the city’s most iconic venues:
- 3 Dollar Bill (Bushwick): She’s regular performing at pop-up parties on weekends—as well as producing her own high-energy parties like “Hot Mess” and “It Girls” that captures the raw, creative spirit of Brooklyn drag.
