Popular Japanese Store Daiso Opens First NYC Location
Daiso Japan is known for essentially being equivalent to a “dollar store,” but with quality items.

Located at 40-24 College Point Boulevard in the Shops at Skyview Center, Daiso Japan will sell practically everything at incredibly low prices: beauty products, toys, home decor, stationary, cleaning products, accessories, and even Japanese snacks. With a total area of 4,109-square-feet, there will be endless amounts of products to browse through that will continue to change for the seasons as well.

Average prices on Daiso goods are typically $1.99, but of course that depends on the item (similar to the varying prices at the dollar store). The new Flushing shop is set to open next Friday, March 8, and will even host a grand opening ceremony to celebrate the big day! The first 100 customers will get goodie bags with any of their purchases on the opening Friday as well as that Saturday (March 9). Additionally, there will be a free Great Prize Giveaway where customers are encouraged to ask for a ticket at the front of the store (while supplies last) before 4:30 p.m. on March 8. Winners will be able to claim their prizes before March 23, some of which include an iPad Mini, Apple Watch and plenty of gift cards.

Daiso openings are known to draw long lines, so be ready to wait or show up early! This will be the company’s first store on the east coast.
