If you missed out on a tropical vacation this past year, it isn’t too late…
And if you’re looking for something a little closer you can have a similar experience right here in NYC!
Dining at Island Oyster makes you feel like you’ve been whisked away to a breezy beachside bar. Oh, and it gets those island vibes perfectly right because it’s actually located on an island….Governors Island!
NYC’s own island-park is open for the season, and its premiere dining destination Island Oyster is back open as well. Visit Wednesday and Thursday from noon until 6 p.m., Friday from noon till 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.It’s a first-come, first-served venue, no reservations needed.
The one-of-a-kind summer destination was even nominated for a James Beard Foundation award for Best Restaurant Design (which we definitely get). Besides just the amazing panoramic views of New York Harbor and downtown Manhattan, it also boasts a delicious menu of refreshing cocktails like the Permanent Vacation with Caribbean rum, blue Curaçao, coconut, pineapple, orange, nutmeg and a delicious Aperol Spritz, plus fresh oysters (of course), a lobster BLT and the Island Burger with hanger and brisket, muenster cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickle, and gochuchang aïoli!
And don’t forget, you’ll still need to make a ferry reservation for a specific time if you want to visit Governors Island! And after seeing these exquisite photos, of course you do…
