This Sunday, one of the most iconic stretches of Brooklyn is transforming into a massive, pedestrian-only oasis.
For one day only, 18 blocks of 5th Avenue in Park Slope will be completely closed to cars, making way for the return of the Fabulous 5th Avenue Fair.
Taking over Fifth Avenue from Sterling Place all the way to 12th Street, this annual tradition celebrates a thoroughfare recently hailed as one of the “world’s coolest”.
From 10 am to 6 am, the usual traffic will be replaced by a vibrant sea of community pride and local craftsmanship.

Whether you’re a local or just visiting for the day, there is plenty to explore across this 10-block takeover:
- Hundreds of Local Makers: Over 200 vendors will line the avenue, offering everything from handmade jewelry and vintage finds to local art.
- A Culinary Tour: Some of Park Slope’s best eateries will be moving their operations outside, offering unique street-side bites and seasonal treats.
- Live Performances: Forget the DJs; this fair prioritizes live music and local performers to keep the energy high throughout the afternoon.

With over 60,000 people expected to attend, it is highly recommended to arrive early and take public transportation, as parking in the area will be non-existent due to the closures.
