Tired of your loud co-workers on their morning meetings and your office’s dreary lack of windows? Norwegian web browser company, Opera, has got the perfect solution for you.
10 lucky people will be awarded the opportunity to achieve ultimate desk goals by working at Opera’s various ‘hygge desks’ located across scenic regions of Norway. Yes, imagine your desk sat in the middle of nature, with sweeping mountains and sparkling lakes in your field of view, rather than your office’s brick wall.
Hygge is a Scandinavian word that illustrates a cozy or calm mood or environment. Opera has taken this principle of hggye to cultivate a browser of ease and comfort. And now, they want to bring the concept of hygge to the physical desks people work at each day.
“A hygge desk is one that allows you to leave anything annoying or emotionally overwhelming behind,” clarifies Opera. To accomplish this, 10 people will be selected to browse the web for a week from Norway’s breathtaking located cabins.
Jan Standal, VP at Opera, said:
“We’re developing a browser that captures the Scandinavian essence of a simple, unassuming life – one that leaves stress behind and helps our users focus on what matters the most. We’re used to hygge in Scandinavia, but now we want our worldwide community to understand what that concept means in practice.”
Various hygge desks are spread across quaint fishing villages to coastal cities including: Lysefjord, Lofoten, Norefjell, Bodø, and Ålesund.
All you have to do to apply is share why you think you should be selected to work from one of the 10 hygge desks. Supporting images and or text can be added to submissions. Applications are open from now through February 28th.
