Beyoncé and a host of fierce pop icons are the themes of a new pop-up coming to Brooklyn for the holiday season. What’s better than grooving to your favorite pop star? Doing it with friends and drinks, that’s what!
Carroll Gardens’ “Leyenda” is a pan-Latin cocktail bar owned and run by two female NYC bar legends; Julie Reiner of Clover Club and Flatiron Lounge and her and protégé Ivy Mix, named 2015 Best American Bartender at Tales of the Cocktails.
Beginning on December 1, the bar will temporarily be transformed into “Sleyenda,” a pop-icon inspired holiday pop-up with bites and booze with a Latin twist.
What can you expect? The Brooklyn spot will get a decor upgrade with disco balls, sparkly reindeer, Day of the Dead nutcrackers, and menus printed on Beyoncé Christmas cards. Think: Latin Christmas meets Cocktails with a pop icon flavor.
Don’t expect, Beyoncé or any other of your favorite pop stars to make an appearance themselves, it’s more about the vibe that filling your autograph book. That being said, this is New York City, you never know who will roll up.
