Tucked away in the back of a popular East Village cocktail bar now lives a street-food style taco bar—Borrachito.
The chef, Yuval Ochoa, previously ran the speakeasy restaurant Dinnertable. Now, he’s serving up authentic Mexican food in the back of The Garret East.

Borrachito uses fresh pressed corn tortillas for their tacos, with varieties that include Pork Bomb, NY Steak, and Baja Fish (among others). Along with their delicious selection of tacos, you can also snack on guac, street corn esquites, tortilla soup, and paletas for dessert.
The small restaurant space seats about 14 people, with one 12-seat table and 2 counter top seats. However, you’re welcome to enjoy your tacos and cocktails anywhere in the bar. Borrachito is open from Sunday through Friday, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.
