Sully, is that you?
Yesterday, a regularly contracted helicopter by Blade (the Uber of the air) was seen struggling just above the Hudson River (around West 30th Street) before finally making an emergency landing. The FDNY confirmed that the pilot, who was the only person onboard, was not injured in the process. The chopper was not on a booked Blade trip, but rather on its way to the West Side Heliport to refuel as directed by its contractor, Zip Aviation.
In the video below, you’ll see the helicopter clearly losing control as it zigzags down towards the water before its emergency rafts inflate for a safe landing. What is it with the Hudson River always having the craziest stories? Luckily no one was hurt!
Terrifying video shows a helicopter spiraling out of control before crashing into the Hudson River. Thankfully, the pilot survived. https://t.co/UOejG4cI80 pic.twitter.com/PyJ0zZ1mDy
