The Montauk-based magazine, Whalebone, has created an entire dive bar in the East Village for only two weeks.
The Boneyard, as it is called, was inspired by the various dive bars throughout America that the magazine’s staff came across while creating they’re latest issue—their dive-bar issue celebrating the many hole-in-the-wall staples across the country.
Located at 25 Avenue B, it’s taking up the basement space just below Avenida Cantina. The bar is open daily from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m. until October 6. According to their site, it “complete with a Terminator 2 pinball machine, old school photo booth, $3 Seagram’s 7, custom dive bar beer from Montauk Brew Co., some of the better bartenders you’ll meet, and the new Whalebone Radio playing at an acceptable level.”
