After a long 18 months, the Greepoint landing of the NYC Ferry service has officially re-opened as of yesterday, Monday, November 14!
Several NYC officials took to Twitter to share the good news.
Councilmember Lincoln Restler tweeted “FERRY UPDATE: Service will be restored to Greenpoint ferry stop on Monday morning, 11/14! After too many months of delays, we’re thrilled the ferry will be back in Greenpoint,” while Councilwoman Amanda Farias, who was the chairperson for the first hearing on the ferry, tweeted she’s “glad to see [they] are getting those in transit deserts back on the ferry.”
The Greenpoint service was first suspended back in May of 2021 after identifying an issue with one of the pier piles.
