NYC’s most iconic transit hub is garnering plenty of attention as of late — and, no, trains have nothing to do with the buzz.
The first Grand Central Terminal wedding in over a decade just took place this October, and it was certainly as cinematic as you would have imagined.
“It was truly the definition of a New York City wedding — elegant, timeless and full of energy,” guest Natalie Romano told PEOPLE. “It felt like something out of a movie that you would only experience once in your lifetime.”
This news comes on the heels of “Dear New York,” a public art display by Humans of New York’s Brandon Stanton, that completely took over the station and shut down ads for the first time in recent memory.
Needless to say, Grand Central is in its record-breaking era, and we’re all interested in a sneak peek.
Inside the Grand Central Terminal wedding
New Yorkers and 32-year-olds Meredith Giuliani and David Garrett said “I do” in one of NYC’s busiest locations amongst 340 friends and relatives. Staying true to the New York theme, Harry Carson of New York Giants fame officiated the ceremony.
Giuliani walked down the aisle in a Ysa Makino gown in Vanderbilt Hall. Guest set up shop under gorgeous chandeliers, white florals, a gold aisle, and 55-foot ceilings, per People.
The fairytale and train-theme continued during the couple’s reception, which was held across the street at Cipriani 42nd Street.
Guests entered “Garrett Central Station” and booked a first-class ticket into the reception, where magicians entertained loved ones and the Erik Marshall Band at Hank Lane Music got people on the dance floor.
If this extravagant affair has got you thinking, “Grand Central’s event spaces accommodate everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale product launches, sporting events, corporate fundraisers, and product sampling activations,” according to its website. Food for thought, brides-to-be!
