Governors Island is the perfect day trip from NYC (while still technically being in NYC), but if you want to extend that getaway, Collective Retreats has been hosting the most amazing glamping experiences.
Over the years, they’ve introduced plenty of new and exciting amenities like live music nights, tarot readings, crafting, morning yoga, bike rentals, chair massages, plenty of lawn games, campfires and cocktails throughout the season—and each year, seems to offer even more incredible amenities than before.
The retreat is officially open for booking now through October! Amenities for the season include:
- Daily morning wellness programs including mindfulness sessions, yoga and meditation
- Air conditioning in all accommodations
- Preferred access and 10% off day passes and spa treatments at QC NY.
- Complimentary breakfast
- Complimentary individual evening s’mores at the campfire
- Collective culinary activities
- Gourmet dining and cocktail service
- Abundant activity space designed for comfort
- And of course, unparalleled views of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan
The accommodations feature three options that visitors can choose from: Summit Tent, Outlook Shelter, and Journey + Tent. While all three spaces feature the essentials (air conditioning and electricity) and include complimentary activities, there are a handful of differences between each tier.
The Summit Tents have private waterfront decks and offer:
- King bed or Double Twin beds with 1,500 thread-count linens
- Ample designer lighting, Wi-Fi, full electricity, and bedside sockets.
- Private, in-suite bathroom with rain-style shower, full flush toilet, and hot running water.
- Signature spa bath products and amenities, Frette robes, and plush Turkish towels.
The Outlook Shelter is a “transformational hotel room” with two private terraces, a windowed spa bath, and:
- King bed with 1,500 thread-count linens
- Designer lighting, Wi-Fi, full electricity, and bedside sockets.
- Private, en-suite windowed bathroom with full flush toilet, rain-style shower, and soaking tub opening onto private terrace with majestic views of the Statue of Liberty.
- Signature spa bath products and amenities, Frette robes, and plush Turkish towels.
The Journey Tent is closer to a camping experience, with a communal bathroom and:
- King bed or Double Twin beds dressed with 1,000 thread-count linens, down comforter, and designer blanket.
- Attended shared bathroom facilities are cleaned after each use and feature private full flush toilets, showers, and hot running water.
- Signature spa bath products, plush Turkish towels, and Frette robes provided upon request.
All visitors are invited to join their happy hour on the Sunset Terrace and reserve a spot for their grill menu highlighting local purveyors and farms. There’s even an option to get late night takeaway drinks at a discounted price to enjoy in your tent.
