Ready for a sugar high? Glace, NYC’s viral hot chocolate go-to, decided to make its Upper East Side shop all the more sweet by expanding into a candy store.
Just in case you were still left hungry after indulging in the shop’s s’mores hot chocolate, Nutella fluffer nutter sundae, or coffee mac’which — a macaroon ice cream sandwich hybrid, for the the uninitiated — you now have the opportunity to stock up on even more irresistible snacks. To what do we owe the pleasure?!
Meet Glace Candy on the Upper East Side
Sasha Zabar, a.k.a. a member of NYC culinary royalty, owns the shop and decided to pay tribute to the business she knew and loved as a kid: Millionaire Deli, where Glace stands today. She wants kiddos to grow up the same way she did, searching the aisles of a candy store for something sweet.
And there’s plenty to choose from; like the viral Lil’ Sweet Treat in the Village, this uptown establishment also carries candy from international locations — Japan, France, Germany, to name a few — as well as the favorites we’ve all come to know and love. If you’re venturing in, expect gummies, marshmallows, chocolates, and beyond. You can fill up a bag with anything your heart desires, and you’ll pay by the pound. ($19/pound)
Should you really be feeling adventurous, you’re in luck. Show off some of those Food Network skills by ordering ice cream and mixing in treats from the candy shop expansion. In fact, there’s a new frozen marble slab waiting for you to bring some creative flair to your dessert order. Now that you mention it, we do fancy a sundae with some gummies on top.
The next time you’re taking a stroll uptown, venture in to the pastel-hued sweet spot and see what confections are calling your name. We’re willing to be you won’t be able to leave empty-handed.
