Though the temperatures have been warming up, we’re still stuck in winter, so the news of a tropical paradise headed for Pier 17 couldn’t have come at a better time. GITANO NYC, under luxury hospitality group, Grupo Gitano, will open its first permanent NYC location and U.S. flagship to the Seaport on Thursday, March 6th!
James Gardner, Founder and CEO of Grupo Gitano, said:
We are thrilled to start an important new chapter in NYC with our permanent, year-round home at the Seaport, where we will be able to elevate the guest experience to new levels…This is a unique and stunning property, perfect for GITANO NYC. We will blend the energy and creativity of New York with the laid-back luxury of the Yucatán, to transport our guests out of the city to our bohemian, tropical paradise that is delicious, glamorous and fun!

Previously, New Yorkers were only able to get a seasonal taste of this jungle escape at GITANO Island on Governors Island. However, now, the Tulum-born paradise will be a full-scale dining and nightlife experience all year-round.
Guests will be able to roam a ballroom-like main dining room with 30’ ceilings featuring NYC’s largest disco ball and hydraulic glass doors that lead visitors straight to the water.

The design will be nothing short of leopard-print details and towering lush palm trees, along with cement tiles imported from Merida, Mexico to fully immerse you into the space.
As expected, the seasonal menus and signature cocktails will pay homage to its Yucatán roots, sure to be nothing short of delicious. Bites include snacks, small plates, and crudo, including Whipped Cotija, Hamachi Tostadas, Duck Huarache, and Chorizo con Queso, before moving onto larger dishes such as Black Bass in Banana Leaf, Roasted Chicken, and Lamb Birria.

Moreover, the space will feature a full calendar of events and programming to keep you coming back. You can learn more about the upcoming permanent GITANO NYC location on its website. GITANO also operates in Tulum and Dubai.
