Global art sensation Idriss B. — who has worked on campaign displays for the likes of Dior, Moncler, Coach and Michael Kors — has brought his “origami-polygonal shaped” animal sculptures to NYC after premiering them in Dubai, Abu Dhabi!
The outdoor installation was organized by the Patrons of Park Avenue (POPA), which maintain and organize the flower bed malls in between Park Ave. This is the first public art exhibit they’ve put on, also supported by NYC Parks’ Art in the Parks program.
The creatures, which vary in size , include:
Rexor the Tyrannosaurus Rex
Mojo the Gorilla
Baloo the Bear
And Manny the Mammoth
There’s also Urus the Buffalo, Diego the Sabertooth Tiger, and Dundee the Crocodile.
“One of the most beautiful places in the world is New York, and it is the perfect place for me to exhibit my work,” the artist said. “It is a hardworking city with a warm family environment, so it is very fitting for people to see and feel the strength of my pieces while bringing the fun to everybody, especially the kids.”
The Zoo on Park Ave will be on view for an entire year, through February 2023. Find them in Murray Hill from 34th to 38th Streets.
