On Tuesday, February 19, the new Meixcan restaurant Oxido will be giving out $1 burritos and bowls!
The restaurant is opening their new location at 1450 Broadway (on West 41st Street) and want to celebrate the big day with all of their new customers. With the motto “Made from Scratch, No Excuses,” Oxido’s chef Jesse Perez (known as ‘El Jefe’) is bringing Midtown a modern spin on the classics he grew up with using fresh produce, chili peppers, premium proteins, rich spices, and beans.
Oxido’s menu will include El Jefe’s signature mains for the burritos, bowls, and tacos like his chicken poblano, grilled garlic steak, and red chile mushrooms (a vegetarian option). The dishes also have plenty of sauces you can choose from. “Get sauced” with the suisa sauce (a tangy tomatille cream saucce with onion, sour cream, and spice), the chipotle crema (a smoky and tangy cream sauce with a kick), or the smoked jalapeño (made with smoked jalapeño, roasted garlic, and fire roasted tomato).
This will be Oxido’s second location in Manhattan with the first being located in Flatiron at 18 West 23rd Street. The only difference for now between the two locations will be the breakfast taco menu. The midtown location will not open with that menu, but plans to offer it soon!
