In the spirit of World Pride and Pride Month, Gay Street in Greenwich Village has temporarily made a name change to become a sign of support.
For the rest of this month Gay Street will now go by Acceptance Street. The sign itself has been left up (of course) but a handful of rainbow colored new street signs have been added!

The new street name in its entirety is: “Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, Nonbinary, Pansexual, Two Spirit, and + Street.” (“+” for those who may not identify with any of the other street names listed above.)
This may just be the most inclusive street in the world, and we’re proud to have it here in NYC so close to the iconic Stonewall Inn.
