Looking for a bit of thrill and nostalgia? If so, you’re in luck! An exciting new interactive gaming center and arcade is opening next week, set to bring the perfect combination of both to the heart of Astoria!
Aptly dubbed Gaming City, the new spot will bring 6,500-square-feet-worth of state-of-the-art 4 and 5D arcade games to locals and gamers willing to make the trek to Queens. (It’s located just steps from the 36th Ave. station on the N,W line.)
And oh, how worth it the trek will be–Gaming City will blend classic arcade nostalgia with cutting-edge augmented reality, offering everything from retro favorites to immersive adventures. Whether you’re a racing enthusiast or a claw machine is enough to get your heart racing, Gaming City provides affordable fun for gamers of all ages.
The space is split into various rooms: a room at the entrance for claw machines, three interactive gaming rooms, and a room dedicated to arcade classics. One of the interactive rooms features a variation of the “Red Light, Green Light” game seen in “Squid Game,” so if you’re unable to make it to Squid Game: The Experience in Manhattan, Gaming City is the next best place to be!
Other games include Dancing Grid, an interactive dance floor that challenges you to keep up with the tempo, and Eye in the Sky, a thrilling game of precision and timing, among many exciting others such as punching bags, basketball pop-a-shot, dart boards, and an air hockey table.
Entry to the arcade will cost $31.99 for an hour and $53.99 for two hours. Kids aged six and under will cost $20.99 for one hour and $34.99 for two hours. There are also two 60-minute family bundles available. Entry covers access to all games, and the space will be open to 50 customers per hour in order to ensure guests can easily play as many games as possible.
As part of the grand opening celebrations, those who purchase entry tickets between January 10th and February 7th will receive five free tokens for the arcade’s claw machines! Visit the Gaming City website to learn more.
