Summer is officially knocking on our doors, and the city’s coastal edges are getting a major upgrade.
If you are looking to leave the crowded streets behind, this massive industrial hub is transforming into the ultimate community escape.
The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is bringing even more cultural programming to the Ferry Plaza. This expands on a highly successful pilot series that drew over 7,000 guests last year.
A reimagined industrial space
Originally built during World War I as a U.S. Army supply base, this sprawling campus is now a modern center for creative activity.
It currently houses over 100 tenants and employs 3,500 New Yorkers.

Beyond the entertainment, the newly opened BATWorks Temp Space will serve as a launchpad for climate tech companies. It will also connect locals to workforce development training and jobs.
