The day before Thanksgiving is one of the worst travel days of the year, so the MTA and Port Authority are attempting to ease the madness with free express bus service to LaGuardia Airport over the course of the next week.
According to the Port Authority press release, the LaGuardia Link Q70 will offer free express service to encourage travelers to use public transportation. They are expecting about six-million travelers to use transportation facilities over the course of the five day weekend (Wednesday through Sunday). However, the buses will begin their free transportation as of today, Monday, November 19.
The Q70 will run express to and from LGA through Monday, Novemeber 26, with Queens pick up locations at Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue/74th Street, and 61 Street-Woodside stations.
They are encouraging people to use public transportation as airport parking will be limited and roads will be congested.
