New Yorkers know that having a sense of rhythm in this city is basically a requirement.
Whether it’s mastering the unspoken pace of the sidewalks or stumbling upon an unexpected street performance, movement is part of daily life here.
And if dancing isn’t exactly your thing? Don’t worry; there’s a beloved tradition that’s here to help.
This spring, Bryant Park’s iconic Dance Party returns for its 12th year, bringing one of the city’s most joyful (and completely free) community events back to Midtown.
From April 29th through May 14th the park transforms into an open-air dance floor every Wednesday and Thursday evening.
The format is simple and welcoming to everyone: start with a free dance lesson at 6 pm led by expert instructors, then stay for a live band and dance party from 7 to 8:30 pm.
Whether you come solo, with friends, or just to watch, the atmosphere is all about letting loose and having fun.
