Brooklyn’s very first marijuana dispensary officially opened on Sunday, January 6.
Located across the street from the Barclays Center and Atlantic Terminal at 202 Flatbush Avenue, Citiva will now sell cannabis-based items that are legal in New York to those registered. Items will include over 30 locally-sourced and lab tested products from tinctures to vape cartridges.
The 2,000-square-foot space will serve the largest borough of NYC with nearly 2.6 million residents. Brooklyn Borough President, Eric Adams, said in a statement:
“I’m excited that Citiva has opened Brooklyn’s first regulated medical marijuana dispensary, providing valuable palliative care to certified patients in our borough. Dating back to my time in the State Senate, I have long advocated for expanding the use of alternative treatments in the battle against serious medical conditions. My administration advocated hard for our borough to be part of the State’s medical marijuana program, and the long-awaited opening of this dispensary translates to quality local jobs and quality local access to critical health care.”
Citiva Brooklyn will have patient care representatives to help patients find out what would work best for them. It will be open from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. daily.
