The FIFA World Cup 2026 is officially touching down in the New York and New Jersey area in just a couple of months, and city officials just dropped the ultimate game plan to make sure every single New Yorker can get in on the action without spending a dime.
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani and Governor Kathy Hochul announced an epic slate of free Official NYNJ Fan Events spanning Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island.
By bringing the celebrations to every single borough, New York is setting up one of the largest free fan events in the entire country!
“When I think back on my first World Cup, some of my most meaningful memories weren’t in the stadium, they were in the fan zones, surrounded by thousands of people brought together by a pure love of the game,” shared Mayor Mamdani during the announcement today.

Where to find the free fan zones
Get your jerseys ready because these community hubs will feature live match viewings on massive screens, local food, and incredible cultural programming.
Here is exactly where you can catch the games:
- Queens: USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows will serve as the Group Stage HQ with daily programming and viewings from June 11 to June 27.
- Manhattan: Rockefeller Center is teaming up with Telemundo for a massive Fan Village right in the heart of Midtown from July 6 to July 19.
- The Bronx: Bronx Terminal Market will host a high-energy Fan Zone on June 13 and 14, complete with local cultural programming.
- Brooklyn: Brooklyn Bridge Park will offer a gorgeous waterfront viewing experience with daily programming from June 13 to July 19.
- Staten Island: Staten Island University Hospital Community Park will host evening match viewings from June 29 to July 2. The stadium even snagged a brand new LED scoreboard just in time for the watch parties!
More ways to celebrate the beautiful game
This citywide takeover is designed to be a massive 39-day celebration that brings economic opportunity and pure tournament energy straight to our local neighborhoods, rather than just keeping it locked to the busiest tourist destinations.
The newly announced fan hubs around the boroughs join an increasingly growing list of activations happening for the tournament as well.
Alongside these new locations, a massive fan zone at Harrison, NJ’s Sports Illustrated Stadium is set to happen, as well as a 39-day takeover of the MetLife-adjacent American Dream mall.
More details on special programming, local partners, and surprise talent will be rolling out over the next few weeks over at the official NYNJ Host Committee site.
