Oktoberfest: known for bringing in the fall with bratwurst, dancing, a plenty of brews. Okay, mostly brews. It’s a perfect excuse to celebrate the arrival of autumn and drink during the day with friends—as if you really needed a reason.

Interestingly enough, Oktoberfest is actually celebrated in New York from September 16th until October 2nd. However, because some of us feel Oktoberfest should be celebrated in October, there are still several places throwing large parties, holding open bars, and even hosting scavenger hunts during this lovely month.

From noon until 3 p.m. on October 14, the Astoria beer hall will host an Oktoberfest scavenger hunt with puzzles and fun facts, followed by a beer-filled after party where the winners of the hunt will be announced.
