We’ve only had a few truly cold days so far, but who else is already sick of shivering? Well, at the fully-heated “Coconut Lounge” rooftop pop-up in The W New York Downtown, it’s summer every day of December.
The Coconut Lounge pop-up transports guests to a summer paradise in the middle of winter and will be open through the end of the month within the hotel’s fifth floor Living Room Bar + Terrace. It’s completely enclosed and heated, so you can look out at the wintery views but still be inside your own tropical oasis.
The new lounge overlooks One World Observatory and the Manhattan skyline, and offers a menu of tropically-inspired and large format cocktails you can share with friends. It was inspired by “the lively atmosphere of summer in the concrete jungle,” designed by Studio 11.
This includes:
- Why Fly South? (Serves 3-4): GREY GOOSE® Vodka, BACARDÍ Superior Rum, dry curaçao, lemon and lime juice, orange and Angostura bitters, vanilla
- Fruitful Night (Serves 8-10): Patrón Silver Tequila, Velvet Falernum, blue curaçao, Coco Lopez, coconut water, pineapple and lemon juice
- Piña Colada on Repeat (Serves 1): BACARDÍ Superior Rum, pineapple juice, coconut water
Everything is served under a canopy of twinkling jungle vines and disco balls that echo a trendy, pink cabana. If you squint hard enough, you can imagine yourself by the pool or at the beach!
The Coconut Lounge is open through the end of the month at 8 Albany St, Fl. 5 from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday-Wednesday, and from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday-Saturday. You can see more info on their website.
