The Empire State Building Is Giving ‘COVID Couples’ Free Photoshoots 1,050 Feet Above NYC This October

Though some couples got creative, many had to cancel or postpone weddings because of COVID-19.

Whether they still decided to go through with a small ceremony or moved everything to next year, they now have the opportunity to get the most amazing photos for free on top of the iconic Empire State Building! It’s also open to anyone who got engaged during the pandemic.

Of course, there are a few stipulations: couples must live within the Tri-State area, and you must purchase tickets to the building’s Observatories that day. On Saturday, October 10 from 11am-4pm, a professional photographer will be available on the Building’s famous 86th Floor Observatory to take up to five photos for each couple.

“For close to ninety years, the Empire State Building has been the star of many love stories – both on-screen and off. This year, we wanted to make couples our focus by opening the Observation Deck to locals looking for the perfect place to celebrate their relationship alongside their love of New York City,” said Jean-Yves Ghazi, President of the Observatory. “So on 10.10.20, grab your tickets and visit us for the best backdrop New York has to offer.”

They said they receive tons of requests daily from couples wanting to get married on top of the NYC icon or to plan the perfect proposal, and, with so many plans affected by the pandemic, they wanted to “give locals from the tri-state area the opportunity to shout out their love from 1,050 feet above New York City.”

Plus, one lucky couple may be selected to win a complimentary wedding at the Empire State Building on Valentine’s Day 2021!

You can pre-purchase tickets on their website here, and then book a time-slot for your photo shoot here.

So be sure to Save the Date for Oct. 10!
