There goes your excuse!
This past Sunday, at the 50th Annual New York City Marathon — which was canceled for the first time last year due to COVID-19 — not only were there 30,000 runners…but there was one very tiny one with webbed feet.
That’s right, Wrinkle the duck — whose Instagram says she’s a traveling duck (named after A Wrinkle In Time) — joined hoards of athletes in running through NYC to beakt her best time.
Just watch the adorable video here and try to not let this ducky put a smile on your face!

Okay, so she probably didn’t run the entire 26.2 miles, just a small portion for the video, but still was faster than we could be!
The original video has garnered almost 4 million views on TikTok thus far, and has completely delighted tons of social media users.

Oh, and she had custom sneakers for her little webbed feet. In fact, none other than shoe brand Adidas commented “Sending this to our design team to petition for a new duck shoe collection,” and the account actually commented that they make the shoes themselves & since they’re getting so many orders, they’re looking for a sponsor!
The video actually brought all the big brands and celebrities out commenting. Here are some of the highlights:
Unfortunately Wrinkle didn’t come in first place — that honor went to Albert Korir of Kenya for the men’s race and Peres Jepchirchir of Kenya for the women’s, who also just won gold in the women’s marathon at the Tokyo Olympics.
Some other stand-outs include: Madison de Rozario of Australia, who won the women’s wheelchair race for the first time, and Marcel Hug of Switzerland, who won the men’s wheelchair race for the fourth time.
