Renowned global entertainer Diana Ross announced that she will be performing at Radio City Music Hall this June, which will be one of the stops on her 2023 tour, The Music Legacy.
Ms. Ross is slated to perform some of her greatest hits at Radio City on Thursday, June 29th at 7:30 p.m. With an extensive discography full of our generation’s most beloved and recognizable songs, the concert will celebrate the legend herself and pay homage to her impact on the music industry. According to her team, she “shares a special connection with the city that never sleeps.”
I love New York City…The energy. The diversity. The magic.
Diana Ross’ long-term relationship with New York dates back to her iconic two-day performance on The Great Lawn of Central Park in 1983. In front of over 500,000 people, Ross was performing when heavy wind and a lightning storm struck down.
Despite the severity of the weather, Ross carried on as long as she could thanks to the encouragement of the crowd. Though it was ultimately cut short, lasting around 40 minutes, it has remained one of the most memorable performances by the artist.
Following the performance, which was staged to raise funds to build a children’s playground in Central Park, the playground was named after Ross upon completion. The Diana Ross Playground is currently located on West 81st Street and Central Park West.
“Diana Ross’s relationship with New York City is dear to her,” said the press release. “She feels it’s time again to share more love and more memories in the place that will forever be in her heart.”
The concert is geared towards an audience of all ages. According to the press release, fans can expect to “be delighted by her timeless songs singing memories including, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”, “Upside Down”, “I’m Coming Out”, “Reach Out and Touch”, “Stop! In the Name of Love,” and many more.”
Tickets for the show will release on Friday, April 21st at 10:00 a.m on Ticketmaster. Prices will range from $59-$349. Make sure to mark your calendar ahead of time, as the show is sure to sell out.
