Design Pavilion is returning to Time’s Square next month with an installation in honor of the city’s official design week.
In celebration of New York’s official design week, Design Pavilion and NYCxDESIGN are inviting the public to engage in this interesting and innovative design space in the center of Times Square! From May 12th -20th, you can experience a series of free installations from emerging and established designers as well as architects and brands from across the world.
This nine day public event- which is located in the plaza between Broadway and Seventh Avenue between 42nd and 47th Streets- is focused on engaging visitors with design ideas for the future. They predict that more than 3 million local and international visitors will interact with the site.
The focus of the space will be an inflatable pavilion designed by Inflate, a U.K. architecture firm (which has done some pretty interesting stuff you can check out here). This giant bouncy-house-esq inflatable will span nearl 2,000 feet and will be the home to the special exhibitions.
The event is free and open to the public. You can check out more information of Design Pavilion’s website, here.
