1. Die Catskills
Die Region New Yorks entlang der atemberaubenden Catskills Mountains ist ziemlich groß und bietet jede Menge Wandermöglichkeiten, frische Produkte vom Bauernhof und ein viel langsameres Tempo als New York City. 2. Burlington, Vermont
Sind Sie auf der Suche nach einem Wochenendausflug in die Natur in diesem Sommer? Dann fahren Sie nach Burlington, Vermont, wo Sie nach Herzenslust wandern, radeln und schwimmen können! Das pulsierende Traumland am Ufer des Lake Champlain ist der perfekte Ort, um ein paar Tage zu entspannen! 3. Die Hamptons
Die Hamptons sind bekannt dafür, dass die New Yorker im Sommer dorthin flüchten, und das aus gutem Grund. Strände direkt am Meer, Restaurants am Wasser und edle Boutiquen sind nur einige der Gründe, warum die Hamptons das beliebteste Ausflugsziel der Manhattaner sind. 4. North Fork, Long Island
Die andere „Gabelung“ von Long Island ist vielleicht nicht ganz so bekannt wie die Hamptons, aber sie ist genauso atemberaubend! 5. Boston, Massachusetts
Besuchen Sie unsere Freunde in Boston, um ein Wochenende in einer der schönsten Städte der Ostküste zu verbringen. Sie können einen Tag des Wochenendes in Maratha’s Vineyard verbringen, eine Nacht bei einem Spiel der Boston Red Sox verbringen und sich sogar durch den köstlichen Faneuil Hall Marketplace essen.
6. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Nur eine kurze Zug- oder Autofahrt entfernt liegt Philadelphia, die Stadt der brüderlichen Liebe! 7. Newport, Rhode Island
Nur ein paar Bundesstaaten weiter liegt Rhode Island, wo sich eines unserer Lieblings-Wochenendziele befindet: Newport! Hier gibt es eine Menge zu erleben, zum Beispiel den Ocean Drive hinunterfahren, den Lefrak Point Lighthouse besichtigen, so tun, als wäre man in Saltburn“ und riesige Villen besichtigen und vieles mehr! 8. Lake Placid, New York
Mehr als 5 Stunden von New York City entfernt, verdient Lake Placid einen ganzen Wochenendausflug. Natürlich eignet sich das winterliche Reiseziel hervorragend zum Skifahren und Snowboarden, aber der ehemalige Austragungsort der Olympischen Spiele von 1980 hat auch im Sommer jede Menge Attraktionen zu bieten, z. B. den Lake Placid Olympic Ski Jumping Complex, das Lake Placid Olympic Museum und vieles mehr! Nicht zu vergessen der nahe gelegene Whiteface Mountain und der malerische Mirror Lake.
9. Washington, D.C.
Laut unseren Freunden in D.C. gibt es dort im Sommer jede Menge zu tun! Was hältst du von einer Show in der Capital One Arena, einer Aufführung des Washington Balletts oder einfach nur von einem Spaziergang, bei dem du dich von den Überraschungen überraschen lässt, über die du stolperst? Ziemlich gut, wir wissen es.
10. Die Region der Finger Lakes, New York
Die Region der Finger Lakes im Hinterland von New York ist ein idealer Ort für ein Wochenende im Weinland. Die verschiedenen Seestädte sind voll von Weinbergen und Weingütern, malerischen Bootstouren auf den Seen und charmanten Städten wie Seneca Falls und Skaneateles. Wir empfehlen Ihnen, sich für ein Wochenende in einem Airbnb einzurichten und einige der über 100 Weingüter der Region zu besichtigen, bevor Sie die malerischen Wanderwege in Staatsparks wie dem Watkins Glen State Park und dem Taughannock Falls State Park erkunden. Zum Abschluss können Sie durch einige der historischsten Stadtzentren des Bundesstaates spazieren, die von Boutiquen, Kunstgalerien und gemütlichen Cafés gesäumt sind.
11. Lake George, New York

Beacon ist eine malerische Kleinstadt im Hudson Valley in New York, die besonders künstlerisch geprägt ist. Sie ist bekannt für ihre Whiskey-Destillerien und glasgeblasene Kunst, und Sie können sogar einen Glasbläserkurs besuchen, während Sie dort sind! 14. Saranac Lake, New York
Saranac Lake ist ein guter Wochenendausflug für alle, die gerne im Freien sind. Er ist eingebettet in die Adirondack Mountains… denken Sie also an Wandern, Kajakfahren und Camping. 16. Bear Mountain und Harriman State Parks
Bear Mountain und Harriman State Park liegen nur etwas mehr als eine Stunde außerhalb der Stadt, aber Sie werden sich definitiv wie in einer anderen Welt fühlen. Wandern Sie auf den Gipfel des Bear Mountain und genießen Sie die herrliche Aussicht. Belohnen Sie sich anschließend mit einem Abendessen und Getränken im historischen Bear Mountain Inn. Wenn Sie es noch einfacher haben wollen, packen Sie Ihre eigenen Sachen ein und zelten Sie im kleineren Harriman State Park, der die Straße hinunter liegt. 17. Portland, Maine
Portland ist vor allem für seine malerische Uferpromenade und seine reiche maritime Geschichte bekannt und eignet sich hervorragend für einen Wochenendausflug, wenn Sie dem Land entfliehen möchten. Wie bereits erwähnt, ist die Uferpromenade von Portland erstklassig und bietet ikonische Wahrzeichen wie das Portland Head Light, einen der ältesten Leuchttürme der Vereinigten Staaten. Außerdem gibt es eine Menge anderer Dinge zu tun, wie z. B. einige der besten Meeresfrüchte im ganzen Land zu essen , das Portland Museum of Art zu besuchen und das beste Bier in einer der über ein Dutzend Brauereien in Portland zu trinken.
