NYC is full of romance, and though Valentine’s Day has just passed, it doesn’t mean love can’t be celebrated everyday.
And yes, we understand the the cold weather can be discouraging to plan date night, but you won’t be able to turn this idea down! The Met Museum just announced that they will be hosting date nights in the comfort of their beautiful (and warm) indoor space every Friday and Saturday beginning February 18th.
They invite you to bring your special someone, a friend, or come solo for an unforgettable night at one of the most enchanting and iconic establishments in the city.
The evening will go from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., for three magical hours of live music, drinks and sweeping gallery exhibits.
Live music will carry through the entire expansive museum, featuring string quartet ETHEL, baroque ensemble Sonnambula, and jazz band Mike Hashim’s New Orleans Foot Warmers.
Museum guides will be scattered across the galleries so onlookers can engage and ask questions about pieces as they “‘get to know’ a work of art, just like a first date,” shared the Met.
And what would date night be without some cocktails? The museum will offer buy-one-get-one drink deals, along with light fare in the American Wing Café. Members at the Evening Hour Levels or above can even head to the Balcony Lounge for an exclusive menu of small bites.
Same to regular admissions, tri-state area students and New York state residents can pay-what-they-wish. Otherwise, visitors can enjoy date night for free along with their admissions ticket.
Advanced tickets are not required for date night.
