In a press conference this afternoon, Governor Cuomo announced that he will closed all New York City playgrounds.
“Density is still too high and is still too dangerous,” he said. “We are closing the NYC playgrounds because they are too crowded. Open spaces will remain open for fresh air and sun. Stay six feet apart. Stop the spread.”
This overrides de Blasio’s order to close only 10 NYC playgrounds yesterday evening.
The most recent numbers are 83,712 positive cases of coronavirus in New York State, and 47,439 of them are here in NYC.
