With October upon us, what better way to celebrate trickery than solving your way out of a corn maze?! Bring family and friends for a day of trial and error as you navigate your way through corn as far as the eye can see at mazes nearest to New York City.
1. Queens County Farm, Queens
The Amazing Maize Maze at Queens County Farm is open weekends from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and has expanded hours on Fridays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Along your way through this 3-acre maze you must solve puzzles, uncover clues, and find your way out of the maze. And if you’re looking for more of a challenge they are even offering a nighttime special called Maze By Moonlight where you have your chance of escaping the maze once it gets dark out. Maze by Moonlight will take place Saturday, October 15 and 22, and Thursday, October 20 and 27 from 5:30p.m. – 7:30p.m. and again at 7:30p.m. – 9:30p.m.

2. Stony Hill Farms, NJ
You’re sure to get lost in this 10-acre corn maze packed with misleading walkways and bridges throughout. In addition, there are games positioned throughout the maze as you try and discover its annual theme. Don’t worry if you get completely lost because you can always call or locate a Maze Master! This maze reopens Saturday, September 3rd.

3. Argos Farm, NJ
This farm is sure to offer you a fun-filled day with the family! Explore the 2-acre maze and celebrate making it out the other side with a delicious fresh donut. Their fall festival fun opens for the season Sunday, September 18 and will stay open through Sunday, October 30. They’re open Saturday to Sunday 10a.m. – 6p.m. in September, and Thursday to Friday 2p.m. – 9p.m. and Saturday to Sunday 10a.m. – 6p.m. in October.

4. Harbes Orchard, Long Island
Open weather permitting, Harbes Orchard offers a variety of mazes to entertain you this fall. You can choose between the Wizard Of Oz Maze or the Robin Hood Corn Maze, both of which open Saturday, September 3rd. Both offer exciting new challenges for you to overcome as you embark on your journey through the maze. For an extra scare, join the orchard for a Spooky Night Maze which opens in October!

5. Kelder’s Farm, NY
Think you have what it takes to make it through the windy, twisty dead ends of the Kelder’s Farm maze? Now is the time to try! This year they decided to make our maze into a tribute for Ukraine and those that have suffered in the midst of this crisis. When you make it through the maze there are 30+ other fun farm attractions to check out. Their corn maze is open now through October.

6. F&W Schmitt’s Family Farm, Long Island
Test your skills and figure your way out of this 7-acre corn maze themed “Wizard of OZ.” You’ll be sure to find dead ends, mis-steps, and a whole lot of joy for every age. Not including admission fee, this maze is open on weekends and holidays charging $10 for hours of amusement! The fall festivities open Sunday, September 18th.

7. Outhouse Orchards, NY
Celebrate your love of Halloween and race your friends and family in this Frankenstein themed corn maze! Find secret clues about monsters and travel through winding paths on your mission to find your way out. Though it doesn’t say exactly when the corn maze opens, their picking season will begin August 27th, so we can only hope the corn maze will open shortly after if not at the same time!

8. Ort Farms, NJ
For over six generations, Ort Farms has brought joy and festivities to the fall months. Their corn maze will open Monday, September 5th. The farm even offers hayrides, pony rides, and apple canons!

9. Alstede Farms, NJ
Included with your admission ticket to the farm, advance your way through the corn maze and discover interesting facts about the yearly theme. If you’re looking for an extra thrill, try traveling through the maze by flashlight during their Harvest Moon Hayride that begins past dark! Their corn maze opens Friday, September 2nd.

10. Hank’s Pumpkintown, Long Island
Hank’s Pumpkintown offers not one, but three corn maze activities! The first option is The Spooky Pumpkin Maze, where you can walk through the corn maze and follow the story of Spookley the Square Pumpkin across 13 illustrated boards throughout your adventure. The Bee-A-Mazing Trivia Game. In this challenge you will search for six different flowers. At each flower you must answer a bee trivia question correctly to get a clue that will lead you to the next flower and ultimately out of the maze. If you answer incorrectly you will be sent back to look for more flowers. Lastly their newest and final maze is Corn You Find Corny Character Challenge, where you will search for a dozen “Corny Characters” hidden throughout the Corn Maze in order to compete with friends and family in who can collect the most points!
