It’s that time of year where Hallmark and Lifetime are running on the TV 24/7. And to relive some of your favorite Christmas movies on screen, the state of Connecticut is welcoming fans on the nation’s first-ever Christmas Movie Trail.
What is a Christmas Movie Trail?
Connecticut is giving visitors the ultimate “set-jetting” experience, a travel trend that involves fans exploring real-life locations seen in their favorite films. Viewers will be able to roam along snow-sprinkled streets through Connecticut’s hidden gems, entering into quaint bookshops, cozy inns and cheerful cafes to get a taste of what it’s like inside their favorite feel-good holiday movies.
Through a curated map of 22 filming locations, fans can follow along routes tracing the iconic spots and backdrops of the many Christmas films across Netflix, Lifetime and Hallmark.
“As the first of its kind, the Connecticut Christmas Movie Trail is more than a nod to the films themselves – it’s an invitation to experience Connecticut in a way that’s both familiar and new,” Governor Ned Lamont said. “We’re proud that our towns and cities have inspired so many holiday favorites, and we look forward to welcoming fans to see these idyllic communities firsthand.”
