Quietly floating on the East River at Brooklyn Bridge Park Marina’s Pier 5 is a bar with quite possibly the best views in NYC. Concrete Shoals recently–and pretty inconspicuously–opened right on the water, and it’s serving up the ultimate “escape-the-city-without-really-escaping-the-city” vibes.
Concrete Shoals comes from the team behind Fini Pizza, who debuted a patio restaurant earlier this season in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Owner Sean Feeney took over a teeny-tiny floating cottage perched at the end of a long pier extending out into the harbor. He transformed it into a charming, nautically inspired bar–complete with picnic tables, rattan café seating, and green Adirondack chairs–all set right on the dock with some of the most stunning NYC skyline views around.
The menu leans fully into the bar’s easy, breezy vibe with all the waterfront sipping essentials–spritzes, negronis, and mini mudslides among them–plus a lineup of beer and wine.

A laid-back spread of snacks and small bites rounds things out: nuts, olives, potato chips, popcorn, charcuterie, and, of course, tinned fish. And if you’re craving something more substantial, you can even order pizza, wings, or a salad from Fini, which will be shuttled right over to your table, notes Andrea Strong of The Strong Buzz.
And while the bar itself is small, the atmosphere is anything but. Guests who snag a seat are treated to live music and waterfront entertainment–and have even scored front-row views of NYC’s many fireworks displays.

As for the view, the bar offers some of the best golden hour vistas in the city–perfectly timed with those late-night summer sunsets NYC is known for.
Concrete Shoals is open Wednesday through Sunday. Reservations are required as you’ll need to receive a code to the Marina. Once confirmed, you’ll receive a text with further info. Learn more.
