Things are about to get sub zero in NYC.
That’s right — zero to sub zero wind chills are expected this morning and tomorrow morning throughout New York City.
The National Weather service says it is going to be the coldest air we’ve felt this winter so far. As you can see, the minimum wind chill temperature this morning is -1° in NYC, and will be 0° tomorrow!
Regular temperatures will be a high of 23° today and 29° tomorrow.
There is also a wind advisory in effect.
The Mayor’s Office advises avoiding outdoors if you can, and ensures that the city’s Homeless Services will be checking on street sleepers to make sure they are safe.
This weekend will be extremely cold. Tomorrow will have winds up to 30mph and a real feel that will approach zero. Be very careful if you go outside and avoid being outside if you can. @NYCDHS will be doing outreach to all New Yorkers without shelter.

And, besides the bitter cold temperatures, there looks to be another major winter storm on its way this weekend into early next week. Though it’s a little too soon to tell, NBC Storm Team 4 says it could potentially drop a foot of snow in certain areas:
