A renovated Clinton Hill townhouse just sold for $9.4 million in an off-market deal.
This massive sale officially sets a new neighborhood record. First reported by Curbed, the stunning residence sits at 374 Washington Avenue.
It is a 25-foot-wide residence that spans more than 7,000 square feet. The home features five bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet.
A pristine late Victorian renovation
Built in 1880, the townhouse is spread across three floors. It sits on an extra-deep lot and is a prime example of late Victorian architecture.
The extra width and depth likely contributed to the record-breaking price. The home’s entirely “turn-key” condition also played a major role.

The previous owners bought the property for $3.8 million in 2014. They completed an extensive renovation to elevate the space.
The project preserved original details, including the working fireplaces. It also added a private decked garden with an outdoor bar. This expansion seamlessly brought the home’s entertaining space into the outdoors.
The luxury residence also features a Viking stove and central air. Matthew Lesser, Matthew Lipsky, and Sophie Smadbeck of Leslie Garfield held the listing.
Topping the historic ‘Pfizer Mansion’

This transaction narrowly tops the previous neighborhood record. Back in July 2021, the iconic ‘Pfizer Mansion’ at 280 Washington Avenue sold for $9.05 million.
That sale had originally surpassed a previous record set in 2015 when 315 Vanderbilt Avenue sold for $7.2 million.
The 10,000-square-foot ‘Pfizer Mansion’ has its own rich history. It was built in 1887 for Charles Erhart, the co-founder of the Pfizer pharmaceutical company and brother-in-law to Charles Pfizer.
The mansion hit the market for $10.3 million in 2025, but it ultimately sold for about $7.8 million earlier this year.
