The Union Square Greenmarket takes place all year long. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, you can stop by for some organic produce, cheese, and other delicious delights.
It’s the perfect time of year for fall farmer’s markets and the Union Square Greenmarket is a great excuse to get outside and enjoy the crisp fall air while finding inspiration for making a homemade pie. (It’s almost Thanksgiving season after all…)
From 8:00 am until 6:00 pm, you can swing by the market to pick up some farm grown produce, dairy products and snacks to help you push through the day. You can do all this while supporting small American farms, farmers and business owners like, S&S.O. Produce Farm, Tonjes Farm Dairy, and of course the delicious Martin’s Pretzels.
The famous Union Square Greenmarket began with just a few farmers in 1976 and since then, has grown to host upwards of 140 regional farmers, fishers, and bakers every week. Thousands of people flock to this market to get their pick of seasonal fruits and veggies as well as meats and cheeses, flowers, breads and more. With winter lurking just around the corner, its a great time to familiarize yourself with the market if you haven’t already and get inspired for dinner tonight!
