From its vibrant pink and green interiors to its oh so Insta-worthy drink concoctions, Cha Cha Matcha has established quite a cult following here in NYC.
And soon, for commuters looking to get their matcha fix, they’ll be able to do just that at Penn Station’s fairly new Moynihan Train Hall.
The new Cha Cha Matcha location will officially open on March 1, 2023 in the Moynihan Food Hall. Customers will be able to get exclusive items only available at the Moynihan Train Hall store such as homemade toasts, smoothies, and ooey-gooey cookies.
Plus, the first 100 guests will get to take home a free, reusable cup!
Cha Cha Matcha originally began as “an alternative to artisanal coffee culture.” By supplying matcha as a caffeine source, the company prides itself on their products clean energy to provide “a smooth buzz that won’t leave you jittery.”
Their matcha powder is directly sourced from Uji, Japan, a region that’s been cultivating matcha for thousands of years.
The first Cha Cha Matcha store opened on Broome Street back in 2016. Since then, the company has opened additional NYC locations and even expanded to Los Angeles. Moynihan Train Hall will be the 10th store location across the U.S.
Moynihan Train Hall first opened on January 1, 2021. The $1.6 billion expansion features a sky-lit atrium, state-of-the-art technology, mesmerizing art installations and full accessibility. It was named after former U.S. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan.
Beyond the new Cha Cha Matcha location, hungry commuters can satiate their cravings at the other dining options found in the Moynihan Food Hall such as Jacob’s Pickles, Davey’s Ice Cream and EAK Ramen.
